Hon. Timothy D. Fox is a judge for the 6th Judicial Circuit Court of Arkansas. He was elected to the bench in 2002.
The 6th Judicial Circuit includes Perry and Pulaski Counties.
Prior to his election, Fox spent the bulk of his legal career in private practice. He also worked for five years as the chief assistant city attorney for the City of Little Rock and was a former prosecutor in the North Little Rock District Court.
Fox has taught as a faculty member of the National Judicial College.
He received a B.A. in political science from Hendrix College in 1978. Fox went on to complete a J.D. at the University of Arkansas School of Law in 1981. He was admitted to practice in Arkansas (1981) and the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Arkansas (1981).
Fox was a president and master of the bench of the William R. Overton American Inn of Court and a member of the Pulaski County Bar Association, the Pulaski County Bar Foundation, and the Arkansas Bar Foundation (Fellow).
In 2007, he wrote and produced “From Marbury to Cooper: Judicial Independence and the Rule of Law,” a program that depicted the role of both the legal community and the judicial system in Arkansas in response to the Little Rock Nine crisis at Central High School in 1957. For his efforts, Fox received the President’s Award from the Arkansas Bar Association in 2008.
He made a bid for a seat on the Arkansas Supreme Court in 2010 but was defeated in the runoff election.
Fox was born and raised in Little Rock, Arkansas. He attended Hall High School.
