Biography

The Hon. Tim D. Wermager is a judge for the 1st Judicial District Court of Minnesota. He was appointed to the bench by former Governor Tim Pawlenty on January 24, 2008.


The First Judicial District includes Carver County, Dakota County, Goodhue County, Le Sueur County, Scott County, and Sibley County.


Wermager earned a bachelor’s degree in political science from Mankato State University in 1979. He then completed a J.D. at the University of Iowa College of Law in 1982.


After graduating from law school, Wermager entered into private practice. He started as an attorney in the Law Office of Harry P. Schoen in Hastings. Then, in 1990, he joined O'Connell, Wermager & Warg. He worked in that capacity until his appointment to the bench.


His memberships have included the Dakota County Bar Association and the Minnesota District Judges Association. He has also been involved with the Hastings Family Service Board, and he has coached for the Hastings Youth Athletic Association.


Born in Austin, Minnesota, Wermager was a resident of Hastings at the time of his appointment.
