The Hon. Thomas Keith (Ret.) served as a circuit judge for the 10th Judicial Circuit Court of Illinois. Keith was appointed to the bench by the Illinois Supreme Court in 2013, filling a vacancy created by the retirement of the Hon. Stuart P. Borden. He retired on March 9, 2018.
The 10th Judicial Circuit includes Marshall County, Peoria County, Putnam County, Stark County, and Tazewell County.
Keith earned an associate’s degree from Carl Sandburg College and a bachelor’s degree in English literature and rhetoric from the University of Illinois. He then completed a J.D. at Valparaiso University School of Law.
After graduating from law school, Keith worked as an Assistant United States Attorney with the Office of the United States Attorney for the Central District of Illinois. During his tenure there, he specialized in cyber-crime prosecution.
Raised in Kankakee County, Keith attended Limestone High School. He spent the next several years working as a farmer and an electrician in Stark County. He and his wife, Lynn, attend Cornerstone Baptist Church in Groveland.
He is registered as a Republican.
