Hon. Thomas G. Armstrong (Ret.) was a judge for the 10th Judicial District Court of Minnesota in Washington County. He was elected to the bench in 1980. Armstrong retired on January 3, 2011.
The 10th Judicial District includes Anoka, Chisago, Isanti, Kanabec, Pine, Sherburne, Washington, and Wright Counties.
He began his civilian legal career in private practice in 1974 and served as the Mayor of Lake Elmo for three years beginning in 1977. Before entering private practice, Armstrong was a Captain in the United States Army Judge Advocate General’s Corps (1971 to 1974).
He received a B.A. in political science from the University of Minnesota in 1967. Armstrong went on to complete a J.D. at the University of Minnesota Law School in 1970. He was admitted to practice in Minnesota (1970) and Wisconsin (1973).
Following his retirement, Armstrong became a wedding officiant in Minnesota.
