The Hon. Teddy L. Hartley (Ret.) served as a judge for the 9th Judicial District Court in New Mexico. Hartley was appointed to the bench by former Governor Bill Richardson in 2003, filling a vacancy created by the retirement of the Hon. Bill Bonem. He retired on July 1, 2013.
The 9th Judicial District includes Curry County and Roosevelt County.
Hartley earned a bachelor’s degree from Baylor University. He then completed a J.D. at Baylor University School of Law.
After graduating from law school, Hartley entered into private practice, specializing in commercial, insurance, and administrative law matters in Clovis. He also spent time as the First Assistant District Attorney for the Lubbock County District Attorney’s Office as well as the Executive Assistant to the Texas Attorney General.
