The Hon. Tara D. Hatcher is a judge for the 12th Judicial District Juvenile and Domestic Relations District Court of Virginia. She was elected to the bench by the Virginia General Assembly in 2022, filling the vacancy created by the elevation of the Hon. M. Duncan Minton, Jr. to the 12th Judicial Circuit Court.
The 12th Judicial District includes Chesterfield County and the City of Colonial Heights.
Prior to her election, Hatcher worked as a family law attorney.
She received a bachelor’s degree from the College of William & Mary. Hatcher then completed a J.D. at the University of Richmond School of Law in 2001.
Her memberships include the Metropolitan Richmond Women’s Bar Association.
