Hon. Steven D. Wyman (Ret.) was an associate judge for the Baltimore County District Court (District 8) in Maryland. He was appointed to the bench by former Governor Martin O’Malley in July 2010. Wyman retired on October 11, 2018.
Prior to joining the bench, he had managed his own private solo practice since 2005. Before that, he was in private practice as a partner at Maggio & Wyman, P.A. (1983 to 2005) and Dawson, Misler, Wyman & Ford (1977 to 1982).
After earning an A.A. from Baltimore Junior College (1967), Wyman joined the Maryland National Guard (1968 to 1972). He continued in his service while attending the University of Maryland, where he received a B.A. in political science in 1970. Wyman went on to complete a J.D. at the University of Baltimore School of Law in 1976.
He was admitted to practice in Maryland (1977), the United States District Court for the District of Maryland (1979), and the United States Supreme Court (1996).
His memberships included the Maryland State Bar Association, the Baltimore City Bar Association, the Baltimore County Bar Association, the Maryland Criminal Defense Attorneys’ Association, the American Bar Association, and the Arlene Rosenbloom Wyman Guild (founding member).
Wyman was also a former member of the Attorney Grievance Commission Peer Review Panel and Inquiry Panel.
From a civic standpoint, he was involved with the Trial Table Law Club (past president and vice-president), the Towson Recreational Council (commissioner), and the Angelo N. D’Anna Foundation (Director).
He is the recipient of the Law Day Award from the Baltimore County Bar Association.
Wyman was born in Baltimore, Maryland.
