The Hon. Stacy J. Louser is a judge for the North Dakota North Central Judicial District. She was appointed to the bench by former Governor Jack Dalrymple on July 1, 2014, filling a vacancy created by the retirement of the Hon. William W. McLees, Jr.
The North Central Judicial District includes Burke County, Mountrail County, and Ward County.
Over the course of her judicial career, Louser has held assignments on the Court Services Administrative Committee and the Joint Alternative Dispute Resolution Committee. She also served as an assignment judge for the North Dakota Supreme Court.
Louser earned a bachelor’s degree in occupational therapy from the University of North Dakota (1996) and a master’s degree in occupational behavior from Minot State University (2001). During this time, she worked as an occupational therapist for Trinity Health (1996 to 2000). She spent the next several years working as a paralegal before completing a J.D. at the University of North Dakota School of Law in 2007.
After graduating from law school, Louser entered into private practice in Minot. She started as an associate at Louser & Zent, rising through the ranks to become a partner in 2012. Louser specialized in family and business law.
Her memberships have included the North Dakota State Bar Association, the Ward County Bar Association, the American Judges Association, and the National Association of Women Judges.
Born and raised in Minot, North Dakota, Louser and her husband, Eric, have four children.
