Biography

The Hon. Skipper J. Pearson (Ret.) served as a judge for the 7th Judicial District Court of Minnesota. Pearson was appointed to the bench by former Governor Rudy Perpich in 1990. He retired in 2012.


The 7th Judicial District includes Becker County, Benton County, Clay County, Douglas County, Mille Lacs County, Morrison County, Otter Tail County, Stearns County, Todd County, and Wadena County.


Pearson earned a bachelor’s degree from St. Cloud State University in 1972. He then completed a J.D. at Hamline University School of Law in 1977.


After graduating from law school, Pearson entered into private practice, working as an attorney at Eller, Schiff & Pearson. He remained with the firm until 1985, at which time he opened his own private practice as a sole practitioner.
