The Hon. Sheri Pym is a U.S. Magistrate Judge of the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California, Eastern Division. She was appointed to the District Court in 2011. She filled the seat vacated by the retirement of the Hon. Rosalyn M. Chapman (Ret.).
Judge Pym graduated with her B.A. in philosophy from Williams College in 1989. She went on to earn her J.D. from the University of California, Los Angeles School of Law in 1994.
Prior to her appointment to the District Court, Pym had served as chief of the Riverside Branch of the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Central District of California since 2006. She first joined the U.S. Attorney's Office as an assistant U.S. Attorney in 2002.
Before becoming a federal prosecutor, Pym practiced as an associate at the law firm Milberg, Weiss, Bershad, Hynes, and Lerach from 1994 to 2001. While at the firm, Pym handled cases involving consumer fraud, wage-and-hour, tobacco, securities fraud, and class-action lawsuits involving Silicon Valley tech companies.
