Hon. Shawn T. McMahon is the president judge for the Elk-Cameron County Court of Common Pleas in Pennsylvania. He was appointed to the bench by Governor Tom Wolf in 2019 to fill the vacancy created by the retirement of the Hon. Richard A. Masson (Ret.).
Prior to joining the judiciary, McMahon was the District Attorney for the Elk County District Attorney’s Office, a position he had held since 2013. He was re-elected in 2017.
He received a B.S. in business administration from Clarion University of Pennsylvania in 1997. McMahon went on to complete a J.D. at Ohio Northern University, Claude W. Pettit College of Law in 2004.
He and his wife, Kathy, have one daughter.
McMahon is registered as a Democrat.
