Hon. Shannon Broderick Bulman is a judge for the 1st Judicial District Court of New Mexico in Santa Fe County. She was appointed to the seat by Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham on January 10, 2020, filling the vacancy created by the retirement of the Hon. Raymond Z. Ortiz (Ret.).
The 1st Judicial District includes Santa Fe, Rio Arriba, and Los Alamos Counties.
Broderick Bulman began her judicial career as a judge for the Santa Fe County Probate Court. She was elected to its bench in 2014 and presided until 2017.
Prior to her appointment to the District Court bench, Broderick Bulman worked as a family court hearing officer in the 1st Judicial District (2017 to 2020). Before that, she was in private practice and served as a former assistant general counsel for the New Mexico Human Services Department and the Department of Public Safety.
Broderick Bulman received a B.A. from the University of Connecticut in 1985. She went on to complete a J.D. at the University of New Mexico School of Law in 1989.
