The Hon. Scott Dunn is a judge for the Criminal Court of the City of New York in New York County. He was appointed to the Criminal Court by Mayor Bill de Blasio in 2017 after Mayor de Blasio initially appointed him to the Civil Court that same year.
Judge Dunn received his B.A. from Cornell University in 1981. He went on to earn his J.D. from Fordham University School of Law in 1984.
Prior to becoming a judge, Dunn had served as the chief of Immigration Litigation with the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of New York. He joined the U.S. Attorney’s Office in 1984 and remained there until his appointment to the bench in 2017. His legal career also includes serving as assistant general counsel with the Immigration and Naturalization Service.
