The Hon. Scott C. Chastain is a judge for the Gilmer County Probate Court in Georgia. He was elected to the bench on November 8, 2016, filling a vacancy created by the retirement of the Hon. Anita Mullins.
Prior to his election, Chastain was the President and Owner of Chastain Land Surveying, a company he established in 2009. Before that, he was the Vice President and Operations Manager of Chastain & Associates (2002 to 2009). During this time, Chastain sat as the Elected County Surveyor for the Gilmer County Chamber of Commerce (2009 to 2016).
Chastain earned an associate’s degree in wildlife technology from Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College in 1992. He then completed a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering and land surveying from Southern Polytechnic State University in 1998.
His memberships have included the Surveying and Mapping Society of Georgia, the Gilmer County Chamber of Commerce, and the Young Harris College Board of Associates.
He is registered as a Republican.
