The Hon. Russell Anne Swafford is a Title IV-D child support magistrate for the Marion County Juvenile Court in Tennessee. She joined the bench in 2022.
Swafford has also worked in private practice as an associate at Elizabeth Greer Adams Law Group, where her areas of practice include personal injury, family law, and criminal law matters. Swafford is also designated as a Rule 31 Family Mediator by the Tennessee Supreme Court. Before joining the firm, she spent five years as a staff member of the Tennessee State Legislature.
Swafford received a bachelor’s degree from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga in 1979. She then completed a J.D. at the Nashville School of Law in 1996.
Her memberships include the Brock/Cooper American Inn of Court (secretary/treasurer), the Tennessee Association for Justice, the American Bar Association, the American Association for Justice, and the Tennessee Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers.
From a civic standpoint, Swafford has been involved with the Sequatchie County Literacy Board, the American Business Womens Association, and the Sequatchie County Foster Care Review Board.
Born and raised in Pikeville, Tennessee, she resides in Dunlap, Tennessee.
