The Hon. Roger Cockerille (Ret.) was a magistrate for the 4th Judicial District Magistrate Division of Idaho. He was appointed to the bench by the District Magistrate Commission of the 4th Judicial District in May 2004. Cockerille retired in 2023.
The 4th Judicial District includes Ada, Boise, Elmore, and Valley Counties. Cockerille held an assignment in Boise County.
Prior to his appointment, he was a city attorney for Boise City and practiced civil litigation in Cheyenne, Wyoming.
Cockrille earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Hawai'i. He then completed a J.D. at the University of Wyoming School of Law in 1992.
He was admitted to practice in Wyoming (1993), Idaho (1997), and the United States District Court for the District of Wyoming (1993).
Cockerille was raised in Haines, Alaska. While at university, he worked as a fuel puncher at a lumber mill in Alaska.
