The Hon. Rodney P. Faver is a chancellor for the 14th Chancery Court District of Mississippi. He was elected to the bench in 2018, filling a vacancy created by the retirement of the Hon. Kenneth Burns.
The 14th Chancery District encompasses Chickasaw, Clay, Lowndes, Noxubee, Oktibbeha, and Webster Counties.
Faver earned a bachelor’s degree from Mississippi State University in 1984. He then completed a J.D. at the University of Mississippi School of Law in 1987. He is licensed to practice in Florida (1987) and Mississippi (1996).
After graduating from law school, Faver began his legal career in Florida, where he worked as a senior litigation attorney for Cigna Group as well as a supervising assistant state attorney in the Broward County State Attorney’s Office.
Then, in 1997, he entered into private practice in Mississippi, supplementing his practice with service as the City Prosecutor for the City of Starkville, the County Prosecutor for Oktibbeha County, the City Attorney for the City of Starkville, a judge for the Starkville Municipal Court, and an attorney for the Oktibbeha County Economic Development Authority and the Greater Starkville Development Partnership.
Faver and his wife, Patricia, have two children.
