The Hon. Robin M. Meriweather is a magistrate judge of the United States District Court for the District of Columbia. She was appointed to the bench on January 10, 2017.
Prior to her appointment, Meriweather was an assistant United States attorney with the United States Attorney’s Office for the District of Columbia since 2007. During her tenure, she started in the Civil Division, serving as Deputy Chief of the Division since 2011.
She received a B.A. from the University of Michigan in 1995. Meriweather then completed a J.D. at Yale Law School in 1998. While a law student, she was senior editor of the Yale Law Journal and served as a Coker Fellow and president of the Black Law Students Association.
After graduating from law school, she began her legal career as a law clerk to the Hon. Merrick B. Garland with the United States Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia. Following her clerkship, she became an associate at Jenner & Block, LLP in Washington, D.C.
