Hon. Robin J. Carroll is a judge for the 13th Judicial Circuit Court of Arkansas. He was elected to the bench in 2012.
The 13th Judicial Circuit includes Calhoun, Cleveland, Columbia, Dallas, Ouachita, and Union Counties.
Prior to his election, Carroll was the Prosecuting Attorney for the 13th Judicial District, a position to which he was elected in 2006 and re-elected in 2010. He also served as legal counsel to the Democratic Party of Arkansas (1998 to 2005) and to the Boy Scouts of America (DeSoto Area Council).
Carroll received a bachelor’s degree from Henderson State University in 1993. He went on to complete a J.D. at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock, William H. Bowen School of Law in 1995.
Carroll was admitted to practice in Arkansas (1996), the United States Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit, and the United States District Court for the Eastern and Western Districts of Arkansas (1996).
His memberships have included the Union County Bar Association (past president), the Arkansas Bar Association House of Delegates, the Arkansas Trial Lawyers Association, the Arkansas Prosecuting Attorneys Association (Legislative Committee), and the National District Attorneys Association. Carroll was also the Prosecuting Attorney’s representative to the Arkansas Sentencing Commission and the State Drug Court Advisory Board.
From a civic standpoint, Carroll has been involved with the SouthArk Community College Foundation Board (secretary); the Fairview Community Development Association, Inc. (secretary); the Henderson State University Alumni Board; and the El Dorado Rotary Club (past president).
He is a Paul Harris Fellow and has served as an elder at the First Presbyterian Church of El Dorado.
Carroll was named among the Ten Outstanding Young Arkansans by the Arkansas Junior Chamber of Commerce (1997) and the Arkansas Business Forty Under Forty business leaders (2001). He is also the recipient of the Young Alumni Achievement Award from Henderson State University in 2007.
He and his wife, Leslie, have two children.
