Biography

The Hon. Robert W. Collins is a judge for the 6th Judicial District Circuit Court in Oregon. He was elected to the bench on November 6, 2018, filling a vacancy created by the retirement of the Hon. Lynn Hampton.


The 6th Judicial District encompasses Umatilla County and Morrow County.


Collins earned a bachelor’s degree in government from Centre College of Kentucky in 1973. He then completed a J.D. at the University of Illinois Chicago School of Law in 1981.


After graduating from law school, Collins entered into private practice, working as a partner at Collins & Collins in Pendleton. He remained with the firm until his election to the bench, supplementing his practice with service as a judge pro tem for the Pendleton Municipal Court.


His memberships have included the Board of Directors for the Pendleton Round-Up Association.


Raised in Pendleton, Oregon, Collins attended Pendleton High School. He and his wife have three children.
