The Hon. Robert N. Clariday is a magistrate for the Orangeburg County Magistrate Court in South Carolina. He was appointed to the bench in 2013.
The civil cases heard in magistrate court include eviction/notice to quit, summons and complaint lawsuits of $7500 or less, restraining orders, and claim and delivery actions. Magistrates also hear criminal and traffic cases, issue warrants and set bonds, and hold preliminary hearings and transfer cases for Orangeburg County.
During his judicial tenure, Clariday served as chief magistrate in Orangeburg County.
Prior to his appointment, Clariday was an assistant solicitor with the 1st Judicial Circuit Solicitor’s Office since 2005. He began his legal career as a law clerk to the Hon. James C. Williams, Jr. with the 1st Judicial Circuit Court (2004 to 2005).
Clariday received a B.A. from the University of South Carolina. He then completed a J.D. at the University of South Carolina School of Law in 2004.
Born and raised in Orangeburg, Clariday enjoys sports and spending time with his family.
