The Hon. Robert L. Bushnell (Ret.) is a former judge for the 21st Judicial District Juvenile and Domestic Relations District Court of Virginia. He was elected to the bench by the Virginia General Assembly in 2013. Bushnell retired on June 30, 2019.
The 21st Judicial District includes the City of Martinsville and Henry and Patrick Counties.
Prior to his election, he served as the Commonwealth’s Attorney for Henry County since 1990.
Bushnell earned a bachelor’s degree from Hampshire College. He then completed a J.D. at the University of Richmond School of Law in 1978.
Bushnell served as a past president of the Virginia Association of Commonwealth’s Attorneys.
