Judge Robert Broadie: Professional Background and Legal Expertise

Biography

The Hon. Robert Broadie is a judge for the Davidson County Superior Court in the 22B Judicial District of the 4th Division in North Carolina. He was elected to the bench on November 8, 2022.


Prior to his election, Broadie was a senior partner at the Law Office of Robert A. Broadie & Associates, a practice he established in 2000. He served on the North Carolina Capital Defender’s Roster, supplementing his practice with service as the Chief Executive Officer of Carolina Legal Solutions.


Broadie earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of South Florida. He then completed a J.D. at the University of Florida, Fredric G. Levin College of Law, in 2000. He is licensed to practice in North Carolina (2000) as well as the United States District Court for the Eastern, Middle, and Western Districts of North Carolina.


His memberships have included the Davidson County Bar Association, the North Carolina Bar Association, the Guilford American Inn of Court, and the North Carolina Advocates for Justice. He has also been involved with the Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, the Davidson County Chapter of Eta Beta Beta, and the Ways & Means Committee of HBBQues.


Broadie was raised in Thomasville, North Carolina, where he graduated from Thomasville High School. He subsequently enlisted in the United States Army, completing tours of duty in Korea, Germany, Turkey, and Iraq. He and his wife, Lura, have two children. The family attends First Missionary Baptist Church.


He is registered as a Republican.
