Hon. Robbin J. Stuckert (Ret.) was a circuit judge for the 23rd Judicial Circuit Court of Illinois in DeKalb County. She was appointed to the position in 2003, becoming the first female judge to be appointed in DeKalb County. Stuckert retired in 2021.
The 23rd Judicial Circuit Court includes DeKalb and Kendall Counties.
During her judicial tenure, Stuckert began as an associate judge for the 16th Judicial Circuit Court in 2001 prior to the creation of the 23rd Judicial Circuit in 2012. She also served as a circuit judge in the 16th Circuit (2003 to 2012) until DeKalb and Kendall Counties formed the new circuit. Stuckert went on to serve as presiding judge in DeKalb County and was the acting Chief Judge of the 23rd Judicial Circuit.
Prior to joining the bench, she was an attorney at Cronauer & Kruizenga and Gallagher & Brady. Stuckert entered private practice in 1992. Before that, she was an assistant state’s attorney in Ogle County (1990 to 1992).
She received a B.S. from the University of Illinois in 1986. Stuckert went on to complete a J.D. at Northern Illinois University College of Law in 1990.
She was admitted to practice in Illinois (1990) and the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois (1990).
Stuckert served as chair of the Illinois Supreme Court’s Pretrial Practices Implementation Task Force.
She is the recipient of the Outstanding Service Award from the Alumni Council of the Northern Illinois University Alumni Association (2004) and the Charles Daniels Judicial Leadership Award from the National Association of Pretrial Services Agencies (2021).
