The Hon. Rick Schoening is a justice of the peace for the Lake County Justice Court in Montana. He was elected to the bench on November 8, 2022.
Prior to his election, Schoening was a police officer and a detective with the Polson Police Department. Before that, he spent twenty-one years as a fish and game warden for the Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks Department.
Schoening earned a bachelor’s degree in wildlife biology and secondary education from the University of Montana. He later attended the Montana Law Enforcement Academy.
