The Hon. Rachel E. Roberts is a judge for the Dunkirk City Court in Chautauqua County in the Eighth Judicial District of New York. She was elected to the seat in 2018.
Judge Roberts received her B.S. from the State University of New York Institute of Technology in 1997. She went on to earn a J.D. from the State University of New York at Buffalo School of Law in 2001.
Shortly after graduating law school, Roberts joined the Chautauqua County District Attorney’s Office, where she served as an assistant district attorney for fifteen years. During her tenure there, she prosecuted felony cases involving sexual assaults against women and children, home burglaries, and illegal gun possession cases. She was also instrumental in helping to establish the Child Advocacy Program in Chautauqua County as well as helping to plan and obtain funding for a special domestic violence unit within the D.A.’s office.
She has been a member of the Northern Chautauqua County Bar Association.
Judge Roberts was born and raised in Buffalo, New York. At the time of the election, she had resided in the City of Dunkirk for fifteen years.
