The Hon. R. Violet Bennett is a judge for the Wayne County State Court in Georgia. She was appointed to the bench by former Governor Nathan Deal in 2012.
Prior to her appointment, Bennett was an attorney in private practice. She also spent time as a magistrate for the Wayne County Magistrate Court.
Bennett earned a bachelor’s degree from Mercer University in 1978. She then completed a J.D. at Mercer University, Walter F. George School of Law in 1981. She is admitted to practice in Georgia (1981) and the United States District Court for the Southern District of Georgia (1981).
Outside the bench, Bennett is a classically trained singer.
