The Hon. Philip A. Contant (Ret.) served as First Justice of the Westfield District Court in Massachusetts. Contant was appointed to the bench by former Governor Michael Dukakis in 1984. He retired in 2018.
Contant earned a bachelor’s degree from Stonehill College in 1970. He then completed a J.D. at Suffolk University Law School in 1974.
After graduating from law school, Contant entered into private practice. He worked as a partner at Donahue, Contant & Cross until his appointment to the bench.
Contant was born in Springfield, Massachusetts.
