Hon. Paul S. Pavlus is a judge for the Cook County Circuit Court in Illinois. He was elected to the Circuit Court in 2012 and was retained in subsequent elections. Pavlus filled the vacancy created by the retirement of Edward N. Pietrucha (Ret.).
While on the bench, he has held an assignment in the Second Municipal District of the Municipal Department.
Pavlus received a bachelor’s degree from Illinois State University. He went on to complete a J.D. at John Marshall Law School.
Prior to joining the bench, he had worked as an assistant state’s attorney with the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office.
Pavlus was a member of the Illinois Family Violence Coordinating Council.
From a civic standpoint, he served as a board member and volunteer with Women in Need Growing Stronger (WINGS), was on the board of directors for the Buehler YMCA, and served as a volunteer for Habitat for Humanity.
Pavlus is registered as a Republican.
