Hon. Paul M. Treseler is an associate justice of the Boston Municipal Court in Massachusetts. He was appointed to the bench by Governor Charlie Baker in 2019.
While on the bench, Treseler has held an assignment in the Central Division.
He received a B.A. from Ohio Wesleyan University in 1988. He then completed a J.D. at Boston College Law School in 1993.
After law school, Treseler served as a law clerk to the Hon. David S. Nelson with the United States District Court for the District of Massachusetts. Upon completing his clerkship in 1995, he joined the Suffolk County District Attorney’s Office as an assistant district attorney. Over the course of his tenure there, Treseler held assignments in the Gang Unit and Senior Trial Unit and served as chief of the General Felony Bureau, the Major Felony Bureau, and the Narcotics Case Integrity Unit, where he handled cases affected by the Hinton Drug Lab scandal.
Treseler remained with the District Attorney’s Office until being named chairman of the Massachusetts Parole Board in 2015. He continued to head the Parole Board until his appointment to the Municipal Court in 2019.
Treseler was born in Boston, Massachusetts. At the time of his appointment, he resided in West Roxbury.
