Judge Patricia Corbett: Professional Background and Legal Expertise

Biography

The Hon. Patricia Corbett is President Judge of the Lackawanna County Court of Common Pleas in Pennsylvania. She was elected to the bench on November 4, 1997.


Corbett earned a bachelor’s degree in political science from West Chester University in 1983. She then completed a J.D. at Widener University Delaware Law School in 1988.


After graduating from law school, Corbett began her legal career as a law clerk for the Delaware Superior Court. She then joined the Lackawanna County District Attorney’s Office, where she served as an assistant district attorney until her election to the bench.


Her memberships have included the American Bar Association, the Pennsylvania Bar Association, and the Lackawanna County Bar Association.


Born in Scranton, Pennsylvania, Corbett attended Scranton Central High School. She is married and has two children.


Corbett is registered as a Republican.
