Biography

The Hon. Paschal A. English (Ret.) served as a judge on the Griffin Judicial Circuit Superior Court in Georgia. He retired from the bench in 2010.


The Griffin Judicial Circuit encompasses Fayette, Pike, Spalding, and Upson counties. In 2013, after his retirement, the Georgia Court of Appeals ordered new trials for several of his cases. The court deemed these cases compromised by his inappropriate relationship with the defense attorney.


English earned a B.B.A. from the University of Georgia. He then completed a J.D. at the University of Georgia School of Law. He was licensed to practice in Georgia (1972).


Born in Birmingham, Alabama, English was raised in the greater Atlanta area. He and his wife, Beverly, have two children. English is a veteran of the United States Air Force, having served during the Vietnam War. He is also a former contestant on the fourth season of “Survivor: Marquesas.”
