Judge P. Paul Yang: Professional Background and Legal Expertise

The Hon. P. Paul Yang is a judge for the 2nd Judicial District Court of Minnesota. He was elected to the bench on November 6, 2018.

Prior to his election, Yang was a sole practitioner in his own private practice. He supplemented his practice with service as a part-time assistant public defender in the Office of the Public Defender for the 1st Judicial District.

Yang earned a bachelor’s degree from Concordia University. He then completed a J.D. at Mitchell Hamline School of Law.

His memberships have included the Hmong American Bar Association. He has also been involved with the Hope Community School, the Yang Wang Meng Association of USA, and the United States National Defense Corps.
