The Hon. N. Kee Bryant-McCormick is a judge for the Sumner County General Sessions Court in Tennessee. She was appointed to the bench by the Sumner County Commission in 2022, filling a vacancy created by the passing of the Hon. Mike Carter.
Prior to her election, Bryant-McCormick was an attorney at the Blair Law Firm, a legal practice she joined in 2021. Before that, she spent time as a member at Bone McAllester Norton (2014 to 2021) and a senior attorney at the Bryant-McCormick Law Group (2013 to 2014). Bryant-McCormick has specialized in business, corporate, criminal defense, estate planning, probate, and special education matters.
Bryant-McCormick earned a bachelor’s degree in history from Mississippi College in 1999. She later completed a J.D. at Texas A&M University School of Law in 2005.
She is licensed to practice in Tennessee (2006) and the United States District Court for the Middle District of Tennessee.
After graduating from law school, Bryant-McCormick began her legal career as an associate at James & Freeman & Associates in Nashville. She remained with the firm until 2008, at which time she became an assistant public defender with the Sumner County Public Defender’s Office.
Her memberships have included the Tennessee Bar Association, the American Bar Association, the Sumner County Bar Association, the Napier-Looby Bar Association, and the Nashville Bar Foundation. She has also been involved with the Rotary Club of Hendersonville, the Mid-Cumberland Community Action Agency, the Hendersonville Regional Planning Commission, Shalom Zone, Autism Speaks, and the Delta Sigma Theta Sorority.
She is a recipient of the Athena Traditional Award from Nashville ATHENA (2020), the Women Impacting the Community Award from the Hendersonville Chamber of Commerce (2019), the Outstanding Citizen Award from the Portland Public Library (2016), and the Citizen of the Year Award from the NAACP (2012).
A resident of Gallatin, Tennessee, Bryant-McCormick and her husband, Sjohn, have one child. The family attends First Baptist Church in Gallatin.
She is registered as a Republican.
