The Hon. Morgan R. Farquhar is a judge for the 10th Judicial District Court of Nebraska. He was appointed to the bench by former Governor Pete Ricketts on February 11, 2022, filling a vacancy created by the retirement of the Hon. Stephen R. Illingworth.
The 10th Judicial District encompasses Adams, Clay, Franklin, Harlan, Kearney, Nuckolls, Phelps, and Webster Counties.
Farquhar earned a bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of Nebraska Kearney in 2009. He then completed a J.D. at the University of Nebraska College of Law in 2012. As a law student, he clerked at Conway Paul & Johnson (2011 to 2012).
After graduating from law school, Farquhar entered into private practice, working as a partner at Eisenhart & Farquhar. He remained with the firm until 2020, at which time he opened the Farquhar Law Office in Cambridge. Farquhar represented clients in criminal defense, juvenile law, estate planning, probate, real estate, banking, water rights, tax, and oil and gas matters, supplementing his practice with service as special deputy county attorney for Frontier County (2020 to 2022) and county attorney for Furnas County (2018 to 2022).
His memberships have included the Nebraska State Bar Association and the American Bar Association. He has also been involved with the Cambridge Airport Authority, the Cambridge Economic Development Board, and the Cambridge Community Daycare Foundation.
He and his wife, Sally, have three children.
