Hon. Michael J. Orlando is a judge for the 17th Judicial Circuit Court of Florida in Broward County. He was elected to the bench in 2002, filling the vacancy created by the retirement of the Hon. Robert Collins (Ret.).
Orlando has held an assignment in the Juvenile Delinquency Division, having also served as chair of the Division.
He received a B.A. from the University of Florida in 1985. Orlando then completed a J.D. at St. Thomas University College of Law in 1988.
After graduating from law school, he began his legal career as an assistant state attorney with the Office of the State Attorney for the Seventeenth Judicial Circuit. Prior to his election, Orlando was practicing as a sole practitioner at his own law firm and served as a general magistrate of the 17th Judicial Circuit.
