Hon. Michael E. Mulcahy is first justice of the Palmer District Court in Massachusetts. He was appointed to the bench by former Governor Deval Patrick in 2010.
Mulcahy received a B.A. from Boston College in 1989. He went on to complete a J.D. at Western New England College School of Law in 1992.
Prior to joining the bench, he was a partner at Brooks, Sanborn & Mulcahy, LLP. He first joined the firm as an associate in 1992 and was named a partner there eight years later.
In addition to his private practice, Mulcahy also served for several years as an assistant city solicitor for the City of Springfield (2001 to 2010).
He has taught Evidence for the Law Enforcement Officer as an instructor at American International College.
Mulcahy was born in Springfield, Massachusetts.
