The Hon. Meryl D. Wilson (Ret.) was a judge for the 21st Judicial District Court of Kansas. He joined the bench in 1997. Wilson retired on June 16, 2019.
The 21st Judicial District includes Clay and Riley Counties. He served as Chief Judge of the 21st Judicial District, having been appointed to the post in 2012. Prior to beginning his judicial career, Wilson worked in private practice in Manhattan since 1974.
He received a bachelor’s degree from Kansas State University. Wilson then completed a J.D. at Washburn University School of Law.
He is a past president of the Kansas District Judges Association and sat by appointment from the Kansas Supreme Court to the Blue Ribbon Commission, tasked with studying the Kansas judicial system.
Wilson and his wife, Nancy, have six children and several grandchildren.
