The Hon. Meegan A. Miloud is a judge for the 1st Judicial District Court of Colorado. She was appointed to the bench by Governor Jared Polis on March 1, 2023, filling a vacancy created by the retirement of the Hon. Laura A. Tighe.
The 1st Judicial District encompasses Gilpin County and Jefferson County.
Prior to her appointment, Miloud was a magistrate for the 1st Judicial District Court, a position to which she was named in 2020. In that capacity, she presided over probate, mental health, domestic relations, and juvenile matters. Before that, she was the owner of the Miloud Law Firm (2011 to 2020).
Miloud earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Oklahoma in 1999. She then completed a J.D. at Texas A&M University School of Law in 2001. She was admitted to practice in Texas (2002), Wyoming (2004), and Colorado (2010).
After graduating from law school, Miloud began her legal career as a legal assistant at Davidson, Bennett & Wigger (2002 to 2003) and Finkel & Altman (2004). She worked in that capacity until 2004, at which time she became an assistant district attorney for the Laramie County District Attorney’s Office in Wyoming. Then, in 2006, Miloud returned to Texas, where she served as an assistant criminal district attorney for the Tarrant County District Attorney’s Office.
