The Hon. Matthew H. Hagen is a judge for the City Court of Houma in Lousiana. He was elected to the bench in 2014, filling the vacancy created by the retirement of the Hon. Jude Fanguy.

Hagen received a bachelor’s degree from Nicholls State University. He then completed a J.D. at Southern University Law Center in 1991.
Hagen spent twenty-two years handling successions, wills, and family law matters in private practice and was a prosecutor with the Terrebonne Parish District Attorney’s Office and a juvenile prosecutor at City Court (2013 to 2014).
A lifelong resident of Terrebonne Parish, he attended Vandebilt Catholic High School. Hagen and his wife, Monique, have two children. He is a member of Woodmen of the World, the Knights of Columbus, and the Catholic Charities for the Diocese of Houma-Thibodaux.
He is registered as a Republican.
