Hon. Matthew G. Margeson is a judge for the Dolores County Court in Colorado. He was appointed to the bench by Governor Jared Polis on February 8, 2023.
Prior to his appointment, Margeson served as the District Attorney for the 22nd Judicial District, a position to which he was elected in 2021. Before assuming this role, he worked there as an assistant district attorney (2017 to 2021) and a deputy district attorney (2014 to 2017).
Margeson began his prosecutorial career after practicing as a partner at Margeson & Reed, LLC in Denver for seven years (2007 to 2014).
He received a B.S. in computer engineering from the University of Michigan in 2004. Margeson went on to complete a J.D. at the University of Denver, Sturm College of Law in 2007.
He is registered as a Republican.
