The Hon. MaryBeth Fleming is a magistrate for the 1st Judicial District Court of Iowa in Dubuque County. She was appointed to the bench in 2017.
The 1st Judicial District includes the Allamakee, Black Hawk, Buchanan, Chickasaw, Clayton, Delaware, Dubuque, Fayette, Grundy, Howard, and Winneshiek counties.
Fleming received a bachelor’s degree in political science from St. Xavier University in 1991. She then completed a J.D. at the University of Iowa College of Law in 1995.
In addition to her judicial role, Fleming has worked in private practice since 1995, including managing her own private practice in Dubuque since 2006. Before establishing her law firm, she was an attorney at the Pfeiler Law Office (1995 to 1999) and Kane, Norby & Reddick, P.C. (1999 to 2006).
