The Hon. Mary J. Mudrick is a judge pro tempore for the Shreveport City Court in Louisiana. She was appointed to the bench on January 8, 2024, filling a vacancy created by the retirement of the Hon. Pammela Lattier.
Prior to her appointment, Mudrick was an assistant United States attorney with the Office of the United States Attorney for the Western District of Louisiana, a position to which she was named in 1999. During her tenure there, she held assignments as civil rights coordinator, criminal chief of the Shreveport Office, and coordinator for Project Safe Neighborhood.
Before that, she briefly served as the Assistant Chief Administrative Officer for the City of Shreveport (1999). She also spent time as an assistant city attorney for the Shreveport City Attorney’s Office (1997 to 1998).
Mudrick earned a bachelor’s degree from Southern University in 1980. She then completed a J.D. at Southern University Law Center in 1983.
After graduating from law school, Mudrick began her legal career as a judicial law clerk to the Hon. Carl E. Stewart and the Hon. John Ballard of the 1st Judicial District Court. She served in that capacity until 1986, at which time she began her first stint as an assistant city attorney with the Shreveport City Attorney’s Office.
Then, in 1989, Mudrick was named City Prosecutor for the Shreveport City Court. She held that position for six years, eventually leaving to become a judge pro tempore for the Shreveport City Court.
