The Hon. Martin E. Stone is a judge for the 15th Judicial District Circuit Court in Oregon. He was elected to the bench in 1998 and re-elected in 2004, 2010, 2016, and 2022.
The 15th Judicial District encompasses Coos County and Curry County.
Stone earned a bachelor’s degree from Willamette University in 1974. He then completed a J.D. at the University of Oregon School of Law in 1977. As a law student, Stone was an editorial staff member of the Oregon Law Review.
After graduating from law school, Stone entered into private practice in Springfield. He worked in that capacity until 1978, at which time he relocated his practice to Coquille. Stone specialized in municipal, banking, real estate, commercial, domestic relations, and estate planning matters, supplementing his practice with service as counsel to the City of Brookings, the City of Myrtle Point, and the City of Coquille, as well as Coquille Valley Hospital, Port of Bandon, Myrtle Point School District, Security Bank, and Coos-Curry Federal Credit Union.
His memberships have included the Oregon State Bar Association, the Coos-Curry Bar Association, the Coquille Rotary Club, the Coquille Chamber of Commerce, and the Coquille Valley Elks Lodge. He has also been involved with the Port of Bandon Economic Development Corporation.
Raised in Myrtle Point, Oregon, Stone attended Myrtle Point High School.
