The Hon. Marsha D. Michael is a justice for the Bronx County Supreme Court (Criminal Term) in the Twelfth Judicial District of New York. Prior to her election to the Supreme Court in 2018, Michael served as a judge for the Criminal Court of the City of New York in Bronx County. She was designated to this seat by Chief Administrative Judge Lawrence K. Marks in 2016, shortly after her election to the Civil Court of the City of New York in Bronx County.
Michael earned a B.A. from State University of New York at Binghamton in 1997. She then completed a J.D. from Albany Law School in 2002.
Prior to her election to the bench in 2016, Michael served as a principle law clerk for the New York State Unified Court System from 2007 to 2015.
Michael was born in St. Croix in the United States Virgin Islands.
She is registered as a Democrat.
