Hon. Marla Prudek is a judge for the 4th Judicial District Court of Colorado. She was appointed to the bench by former Governor John Hickenlooper on November 8, 2012.
The 4th Judicial District includes El Paso and Teller Counties. On the District Court, she presides over civil, criminal, and domestic relations cases.
Prior to her appointment, Prudek was a judge for the El Paso County Court since 2009. Before beginning her judicial career, she specialized in criminal defense in private practice and worked as a deputy district attorney in El Paso County (1989 to 1991).
She received a bachelor’s degree from Carroll College. Prudek went on to complete a J.D. at the University of Puget Sound School of Law in 1985.
She was admitted to practice in Washington (1985), the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit (1987), the United States Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit (1989), and Colorado (1986).
Prudek is a supporter of the Pikes Peak Range Riders Foundation.
