The Hon. Mark D. Chiasson is a judge for the Thibodaux City Court in Louisiana. He was elected to the bench in 2008, filling a vacancy created by the retirement of his father-in-law, the Hon. David Richard.
Prior to his election, Chiasson was an assistant district attorney with the Lafourche Parish District Attorney’s Office. In that capacity, he prosecuted cases before the 17th Judicial District Court, the 1st Circuit Court of Appeal, and the Louisiana Supreme Court.
Chiasson earned a bachelor’s degree from Nicholls State University in 1987. He then completed a J.D. at Southern University Law Center in 1991. He is licensed to practice in Louisiana (1991).
Raised in Thibodaux, Louisiana, Chiasson graduated from Thibodaux High School. He and his wife, Michelle, have three children.
