The Hon. Margaret A. Nagle (Ret.) is a former magistrate for the United States District Court for the Central District of California. She was appointed to the bench in 1997. Nagle retired in 2015.
She received a bachelor’s degree in mathematics and economics from Boston College in 1972. Nagle then completed a J.D. at Columbia Law School in 1975.
She began her legal career as an associate at Goodwin, Procter & Hoar, LLP in 1975. Nagle then joined Stroock & Lavan, LLP in 1978, where she remained until her call to the federal bench. She was named a partner in the firm in 1984.
Following her retirement, Nagle became a mediator and arbitrator at JAMS.
Her memberships include the American Bar Association, the Los Angeles County Bar Association, the Women Lawyers Association of Los Angeles, the Association of Business Trial Lawyers of Los Angeles, the Los Angeles County Bar Association Executive Committee for the Litigation Section, and the Council of Women of Boston College.
