The Hon. Lynn S. Brice (Ret.) was a judge for the 12th Judicial Circuit Court of Virginia. She was elected to the seat by the Virginia General Assembly in 2014. Brice was not chosen for re-election by the Assembly in 2022.
The 12th Judicial Circuit includes Chesterfield County and the City of Colonial Heights.
She began her judicial career as a judge for the Chesterfield Juvenile and Domestic Relations District Court in the 12th Judicial District in 2001.
Before joining the bench, Brice was in private practice as an officer at LeClairRyan in Richmond, where she specialized in complex litigation matters. She entered private practice after a six-year stint as a prosecutor in Chesterfield and Colonial Heights. Brice has also taught as an adjunct professor at the University of Richmond School of Law since 2003.
She received a B.A. from the State University of New York at Buffalo and an M.S.W. from Virginia Commonwealth University. Brice then completed a J.D. at the University of Richmond School of Law.
Her memberships include the Community Criminal Justice Board, the Virginia State Bar, the VBA Judicial Council, the Virginia Trial Lawyers Association, the Virginia Association of Defense Attorneys, the National Council of Juvenile and Family Court Judges, the Metropolitan Richmond Women’s Bar Association, and the John Marshall American Inn of Court.
Following her retirement from the bench, Brice joined Juridical Solutions as a mediator in 2023.
