The Hon. Loren M. Lampert is a judge for the 9th Judicial District Court of Louisiana. He was elected to the bench on March 23, 2024, filling a vacancy created by the retirement of the Hon. John Davidson.
The 9th Judicial District encompasses Rapides Parish.
Lampert earned a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice and sociology from Louisiana College in 1993. He then completed a J.D. at Oklahoma City University School of Law in 1996. He is licensed to practice in Louisiana (1997).
After graduating from law school, Lampert began his legal career as an assistant district attorney with the Rapides Parish District Attorney’s Office. During his tenure there, he handled thousands of cases, conducting over two hundred jury trials. Then, in 2011, he was selected to serve as the interim Chief of Police for the City of Alexandria. Lampert also spent time as an assistant district attorney with the Calcasieu Parish District Attorney’s Office and the executive director of the Louisiana District Attorneys Association.
His memberships have included the National Association of Prosecutor Coordinators, the Louisiana State Bar Association, the Louisiana Law Institute, and the Louisiana Violent Crime Task Force.
He is a recipient of the Superintendent’s Award from the Louisiana State Police and the Crime Stopper Award from the CENLA Crime Stoppers (2011).
Raised in Rapides Parish, Louisiana, Lampert graduated from Tioga High School. He subsequently served as a deputy sheriff with the Rapides Parish Sheriff’s Office as well as a police officer with the Alexandria Police Department. Lampert and his wife, Lisa, attend Longview Baptist Church. When not presiding over legal proceedings, he enjoys playing in the band for HIS Church in Pineville.
He is registered as a Republican.
